Senior Estimator

Position Profile:

As a Senior Estimator this individual will routinely coordinate and supervise the estimating & preconstruction process and assembly of estimates to be used for competitive bidding as well as negotiated projects. These projects will vary in types from conceptual to construction document and vary in size from $3M to $20M. This estimator will take the lead in estimating projects with input & help coming from project managers.

Expected Knowledge & Experience:

- 6+ years construction experience in General Commercial Estimating
- able to demonstrate the initiative to search out the most reasonable cost
- able to demonstrate solid organizational and management skills
- able to demonstrate pricing knowledge
- stable employment background and work history
- favorable reports from recent and past “peer group” or direct senior management
- able to coordinate multiple projects on bid day
- experience with estimating software like MC2, On screen Takeoff & Earthworks
- Willingness to work in team environment and be mentored
- Knowledge of Conceptual estimating
- Knowledge of different foundation & structural system

Duties:

- Take-off & Pricing
- Sub Solicitation
- Scope of work & bid evaluation
- Coordinate all bid activities
- Prepare RFIs for bid
- Prepare General conditions.
- Value engineering
- Prepare Post bid historical data collection

Position Requirements:

This position requires a 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction related field, or equivalent combinations of technical training or experience. 5-7 years estimating experience and knowledge of techniques & cost control a must.
